Norridgewock Memorial Gathering 2014 – Save the Date

Please Save the date!!

The annual Norridgewock Memorial Gathering will held be on Sunday August 17th this year. As in past years we will have canoe journeys and sacred runs taking place as part of the gathering. The remembrance ceremony will take place mid day to mid afternoon once the paddlers and runners have arrived on site at the Pines. Following will be a pot luck style meal sharing and traditional corn roast, please feel welcome to bring a healthy food dish to share.

Folks interested in paddling journey’s should contact either Mark Ranco or Kyle Lolar. We are contemplating two paddles this year, an overnight up river paddle and a single day downriver paddle.

Barry Dana, will be coordinating the sacred run anyone interest should contact Barry.

The Pines is a carry-in and carry-out site so please plan on being able to recover any plates, paper and other disposable items you may bring and use.

For folks interested in tent camping/accommodations – while there are several hotels in Skowhegan, the memorial falls on the weekend(s) of the Skowhegan State Fair so reserve a room well in advance.

Tent camping is available at the Evergreens Campground which is in Solon several miles upriver from the Norridgewock site.

Also please bring your camp chair(s) as there is no seating other then the ground. The Norridgewock Pines site is located off of Father Rasle Road in Madison Maine.
