One Shelf Project

Copy of One Shelf Project

Gedakina is pleased to announce a new children’s book initiative. We have always had the goal of educating the teachers who work with our students as we believe it is important in an effort to help our students be successful. We have decided to create one library shelf of books with newly published books along with a few oldies but goodies which we are calling The One Shelf Project. Each of the staff has recommended two institutions to receive one library shelf full of culturally appropriate and historically accurate books on Native Americans which have been read and reviewed by several of the employees. The collection consists of K-12 literature, both nonfiction and fiction, along with several teacher’s guide books.  These are the books the staff enjoyed the most and would like our children to have access too. We hope you’ll see the value in having these books available and join us in creating a more just and equitable world.
